Rebasing on Zen Browser instead of Firefox will grant additional features and perfomance.
Also, Floorp is something to really look at nowadays for many features.

Mercury looks dead enough for me. It would be more feasible if floorp or zen could implement mercury optimizations.

Well, @Alex313031 has recently updated Thorium, so probably he is still working on Mercury too.

Zen and Floopr depend on Firefox. Mercury depends on Firefox and is added code from other browsers.
Rebasing on Zen or Floopr means issue from both Firefox and (Zen or Floopr) would exist on Mercury, which is not a good idea.
Instead if you need something from Zen or Floopr, adding them to Mercury would be more controllable.
But adding more may also means reducing performance. But let's hope Alex to give some update first if he wishes.

Understandable, however both Floorp and Zen are definitely stable project nowadays, I don't see this as much as a problem.
