Hi everyone,

I've noticed a lot of discussions happening about this ROM across various platforms. I want to clarify a few things about this project. First of all, I am not a software developer; I am a systems security engineer who created this repository to give a second life to Microsoft Surface Duo devices. I work on this in my free time, which is usually very limited, and I don't get anything out of this except you (and I) get the latest Android experience on a 4-year-old device. I frequently collaborate with Thai-ng to make this experience as smooth as possible. With that being said, I want to mention the following points:

1. This ROM is used daily by many people, including myself. You can check the discussions at XDA Developers. It is secure, and I always try to provide the latest Android system updates. The security update date you see in the Treble app is the vendor kernel update date, which is the last kernel security patch date (we can't do anything about it since it is 4-year-old hardware).

2. This ROM contains all the play integrity checks, so you can use your banking apps without any issues.

3. If you are not familiar with the flashing commands, please do a small research on them before proceeding. You can check the discussion section, issues section, and the XDA android 14 page as well for this.

4. If you want to contribute, you can always do it. I really appreciate it!!. If you fix something please submit the patch in a pull request, and I will inspect and merge to the releases. However, finding an issue is just 0.01% of the story (technically an issue does not qualify as a contribution), fixing that is the remaining 99.99% and it takes a lot of time, so please be nice to people who fix them (understand that it is not their responsibility to fix any issue, if you are nice to them, they will consider fixing them), especially lot of people from Trebledroid and individuals like ponces are working behind the screen to make it happen (You can check the contributors section for more).

5. Finally, if you want to try a stable Android 14 experience on Duo devices, you have it. It has many functional and security features compared to the stock ROM and very few bugs. If you want to revert to stock 12L instructions are available here.
