If version 3.10 or newer is not available in your distro repositories, download Python directly from it's official page and install using the given instructions in the downloaded package.

Please install Python 3.10 or newer globally, or You can just simply install readline pip install readline

Best for you will be to update your python. On python.org there is a Linux package with python 3.11, You can download it and follow the instructions provided with the package itself.
