[Feature Request]: Add the node templates manager to the sidebar #1012
Comments
This proposal is excellent. When the number of templates exceeds 30, the template manager becomes very inconvenient because it does not support folder classification. If it can be placed in the sidebar and use a single JSON file, and use folders for classification management just like workflows, it will be much more convenient. |
Ah, right ! I think this could work ! And it also allows to save and load "templates" with their groups ! So what are the plans for Templates ? I think the Templates Manager could be removed. But I would keep the right click option, to save. I would call it: This way, we don't have to clear the rest of the "workflow", just to save a "template". |
Unifying these two should probably happen at some point, and with an easy way to convert existing templates to workflows. It requires a bit of planning, but it can happen. Notes:

Is there an existing issue for this?
What would your feature do ?
The node templates have great potential.
But I think many users are not aware of this feature, because it's "hidden" in the right click menu.
Proposed workflow
The node template manager functionality could be added to the sidebar.
And the user could drag the node templates to the workflow, from the sidebar.
You could add a few simple node templates, just for the list not being empty, and for this feature to be easier to understand for new users.
