Would you have any interest in adding disk.frame support for https://github.com/markfairbanks/tidytable?
I found this pull request mentioning my package #220, which was named 'gdt' at the time, but is now called 'tidytable'.
I was a contributor to tidyfast, but the author stopped updating the package.
The current CRAN release of 'tidytable' doesn't have S3 methods, but I will be submitting and updating shortly.
The main differences I've found between 'tidytable' and other 'data.table' translation packages:

If tidytable implements s3 methods then I can add support for them quite quickly and add tidytable to the Suggest in Description
