Text tool not functioning

hello comm I recently installed figma in my Ubuntu 24.04 PC and the text tool with the dark mode are not functioning.
For the text tool I am able to create a text field but when I try entering text, there is no change and nothing appears. I have tried troubleshooting, clearing the cache, uninstalling and installing back but still thesame problem.
For the dark mode, whenever I change to dark mode, only the canva background changes and not the side panels with the menu bar.
I really need help on this one please
