Sorting Texture

I tend to work with a LOT of textures, so I found it inconvenient that there is no way to sort textures Alphabetically, when there is a way to sort the Outliner. there isn't even a plugin for this as far as I'm aware either. I basically want to sort texture in the same way the "Sort Outliner" toolbar option works. Thanks in advance
