Hello. I was looking at the distribution of the length of stay data in the ED dataset (calculated by subtracting the outtime field from the intime field) and noticed that a significant percentage of edstays had lengths of stay of 10 minutes or less.
Can anyone provide insight into why this might be the case? When are the in-times and out-times typically recorded? Is the intime when a patient first enters the waiting room or when they are assigned a specific room in the ED? Are there a large proportion of patients who enter the ED waiting room and leave shortly thereafter?
