Hacktribe Tutorial

This is a tutorial for Hacktribe firmware patching.

The tutorial is a bash script, we can run it in a Github Codespace.

You need to sign in to Github before continuing.

Follow the steps below, as demonstrated in this video.

Create a Codespace

To create a codespace from this repo, click the green 'Use this template' button at the top right, then click 'Open in a codespace'.

Wait while the codespace loads, then wait for the tutorial script to run automatically.

Get the Files

The patched files will appear in the file pane on the left. Right-click on a file to open a context menu.

If you want to understand the process, delete these files, read the tutorial script and run each command in the terminal. Otherwise you can just download the files.

Files:

  • sampler-hacked-SYSTEM.VSB : Install Hacktribe from factory sampler firmware.
  • synth-hacked-SYSTEM.VSB : Install Hacktribe from factory synth firmware.
  • synth-revert-SYSTEM.VSB : Revert Hacktribe to factory synth firmware

See the Hacktribe wiki and discussions for more information.

Tidy Up

Once completed, go to github.com/codespaces and delete the codespace to save resources.
