Hospitality: Royal Titles Increase Silver Carried #812
Comments
If I remember well, empire already brings more silver. But this might be too subtle to be useful. |
I think that would line up very loosely with my observations. The imperials did seem to have more, but that wasn't much stratification between the titles. Also, I've been thinking about this with regards to balance. I think if you just increase the silver on the higher ranking nobles it could result you getting a lot of money if you just have a guest barracks and use high social pawns to get the guests happy. That way, if you want the money from the titles, you need to allocate the space and rooms to actually get those guests. Lastly, a minimum title require that could be set on guest beds would be nice. You could also only allow nobles to show up if they are beneath the rank of your noble or within one rank. So no Stellarch comes to visit a Yeoman. I know that's a lot, but it'd all be lovely to have! |
You can already just send them away and they'll come back another time. This would all be nice and stuff, but I don't do new features anymore. Also, the whole empire stuff, from what I can tell, isn't used much by players anyway. So I kinda regret having integrated it in the first place. It was a lot of work. |
What problem does your suggestion solve
A high ranking member of the empire can show up to your colony with requirements for high quality food and accommodations, but not have the silver to pay for it even with a +100 relationship with the empire. This results in having to give certain meals/beds for free if you don't want what should be the wealthiest guests complaining about their stay.
It also means you can't control where the nobles can sleep by price really. If you price the nicest fanciest bed in a range the noble can afford the other nobodies can afford it as well, meaning they might take it instead.
Describe the solution you propose
Add some multiplier based on the title for how much silver they bring. A Stellarch should have more money than a Yeoman. Compatibility with VFE - Empire would also be highly appreciated!
Describe alternatives you've considered
I think it would also make sense to apply the modifier to either the whole group (the retinue) or some modifier to the nobles and some other modifier to their fellow guests.
P.S. this could already be happening and it's just small enough of a change I haven't noticed it, but from my observations title doesn't seem to have any effect.
