Currently, the CI jobs that we have to get run on ubuntu (apart from self-hosted runners for hardware testing). They do not run every time on macOS because macOS takes up too much CI time (we have only 2000 minutes per month for free). But it would be nice to have the build testing on macOS at some point. The job here would be to add a workflow like that that builds it on a macOS runner but only for main, develop and release branches after something is merged into them
