What happened?

I am logged into Microsoft Account and Switch Acccount. Bedrockconnect servers are defined in my DNS and working all good - I can see and edit the server list on PC and Switch.

I added my server 10.50.0.212:25565 on Switch and PC. PC connects, Switch spits out "Unable to connect to world".

Already went through the troubleshooting pages and issues with no luck. Issue #408 does not seem to be resolved here.

Switch is on 1.20.12

Expected Behaviour?

Should connect to my server 10.50.0.212:25565

Steps to reproduce.

  1. Press play
  2. Press Server
  3. The Hive
  4. Connect to Server
  5. Add 10.50.0.212:25565

10.50.0.212:25565, looking at the port number, appears to be a Java Edition server. As stated in the troubleshooting (https://github.com/Pugmatt/BedrockConnect/wiki/Troubleshooting#im-able-to-get-on-the-bedrockconnect-serverlist-but-retrieving-a-cant-connect-to-worldunable-to-connect-to-world-when-joining-a-server) if it's a Java edition server you will need to use something like Geyser/GeyserConnect to connect to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_oPHl5gz_c

I'm assuming it's working on PC if you're using Java edition on there. Java edition and Bedrock Edition (The one available on Switch) are two completely different versions of the game (at least in terms of it's server protocol and codebase), and Geyser is a third-party tool that helps convert the connection.

Thank you for your quick reply. You're totally right! I am new to Minecraft so I thought, newest version 1.20.1 is the essential thing and diversion into Java and Bedrock is only PC/consoles. Didn't know that this affected the the server - which I thought would be compatible for both.

Will check geyser! Thank you again for supporting here!
