Vulnerabilities in the cp-kafka-connect-base image due to JVM17 incompatibility

We are blocked from updating to java 17 because confluent has no kafka images which use java >11.

I mentioned the issue on their github, it seems we are far from the only one. We should monitor the issue there so we can update when they do.

The incompatibility also results in a rather cryptic error when deploying the image. We need to do a hotfix to resolve the issue, the current release is broken
