It makes sense to prohibit the use of save states for hardcore achievements. However, there are situations where a "suspend" feature would be useful, e.g.:
A suspend feature could be easily implemented using existing save state features but it would be distinct in that it won't allow a player to repeatedly load and reattempt the achievement, thus keeping in the spirit of playing the game as it was intended. The feature would work like this:
