Hi! I recently bought an official Sony DS4 V2 controller for my PC. Before the purchase I was using a V1 controller with the old SCP toolkit, both wired and wireless via an Asus BT400 bluetooth (BCM920702) with zero issues. The old SCP program doesnt support DS4 V2 controllers so I came across the newer, supported version of SCP, DS4windows. I downloaded everything required and got the V2 controller "working".
However there is a number of problems:
While conected to bluetooth, the lightbar remains the searching shade of light blue instead of changing to the darker royal blue. None of the lighting settings in DS4 have any effect on this. There is no way to tell if the battery is nearly empty, because the lightbar is stuck in this state.
Transitioning from BT to wired causes the controller to unpair and repair multiple times instead of just having a smooth changeover like I'm used to with the old SCP. This has caused ingame problems with "controller was unpaired" notifications that I'm unable to clear, crashing the game and even DS4 itself. Also, while wired, the lightbar would change to the correct blue but would exibit strange behaviour with brief flashes of light. None of the lighting options would work correctly.
When the controller is connected to bluetooth the latency is very bad 13-14ms, inputs are often missed, making the controller unuseable.
I did try my V1 controller with DS4 and that worked fine, all the lighting was correct. but had the same unpairing/re-pairing issues as the V2 when switching from BT to wired.
These issues have caused me to abandon using my brand new V2 controller and Ds4windows, reverting back to the SCP toolkit and V1 controller, again with zero issues as before.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I can see that DS4 is far superior to SCP with its many functions and, more importantly, is still supported.
