GUI for copying and converting gametypes for use in hot reloading in MCC. Supports use of both MegaloEdit and Reach Variant Editor gametypes.

Installation

  1. Download the latest in development build using the link below or download the latest release.
  2. Unzip the downloaded zip file into your desired directory.
  3. Launch UniversalGametypeEditor.exe from the files list.

Features

  • Copy and convert gametype files (.mglo, .bin) into the appropriate HotReload directory for Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 4, and Halo Reach
  • Automatically convert MegaloEdit variants into forge variants.
  • Modify some gametype data to be recompiled
  • Detect when gametype files are modified and perform copying and converting automatically
  • Watch for gametype changes in multiple directories at the same time
  • More features to come

Getting Started

  1. Open File>Set Game Folder...
  2. Navigate to your Halo The Master Chief Collection Folder and select it.
  3. Open File>Set Watched Folder.
  4. Navigate to the folder where your game variant files are stored and select it.
  5. Add any other folders as desired.
  6. Modify any game variant and watch it be converted and copied to the HotReload folder.
  7. Open the pause menu in game, click the button to hot reload the game variant and press OK without changing anything.

Latest Development Build

This is the latest build of the project. This will contain the most recent updates that have been pushed to the repo and may contain bugs and errors. Report any encountered bugs by creating a new issue.
