I would like to plot like the figure below, is this possible using snipit?

That's a snipit plot with added annotations of the genes/regions. You can do this yourself with Inkscape. Make sure to output pdf or svg for a easier time.

I do agree it would be great if snipit can ingest a gff/gtf file to add such annotations.... I might try to do this but don't hold your breath.

Snipit does have the ability to parse a genbank file (I added it in when i'd originally been thinking about amino acid level stuff for snipit, but then got distracted with something else and never followed up with it). May be something to revisit in the future- but possibly low priority!
