This example demonstrates how to perform following steps:
- configure embedded engine to run in spring-boot application
- configure REST API to run in spring-boot application
- configure basic authentication on REST API in spring-boot
- perform a request towards API protected with Basic Authentication
This example illustrates how to start spring boot application with embedded engine and REST API available as well as basic authentication filter.
Add basic spring applicationContext.xml

You can either build it with maven and see that tests are executed successfully, or you
can run CamundaSpringBootExampleApplication
class as a Java application, and try to open
following url in your browser http://localhost:8080/engine/default/user. Which will request
username and password from you. If you use demo\demo
as your authentication data, you should
see information of demo user in JSON format printed to your screen.
