as it's done in https://github.com/Yunheng/netcat-bash-chat using the openssl tool. But, well, it requires all users to share the same key/password

it looks awfully complicated to redirect the input sent to ncat... Postponed, if not abandoned, at some point.
the server/client already uses SSL by default, which is better than nothing.
