Based on instructions to add a new catalog to https://hub.tekton.dev/, we should be able to move to hosting our own tekton catalog for our specific tasks and pipelines without affecting discoverability.

Pros:

  • Reduces the time from released to published given that the current process requires review and approval from the Tekton Catalog maintainers. This process can take a few days.
  • We can simplify the contribution/maintenance overhead since there would only be one repo as opposed to two (tekton-integrations and catalog).

Cons:

  • We don't get additional 👀 (eyes) on our implementation.
