.NET Core 2.2 EOL and Docker Hub tag updates
As of December 23, 2019, .NET Core 2.2 reached end-of-life (EOL). As a result, Docker images for this version of .NET Core will no longer be produced. In addition, Docker Hub tags that were not version-specific are being updated to target 2.1 instead of 2.2 (see below for more info). This change will take effect on January 14, 2020.
Details
On January 14, 2020, the following Docker Hub tags that were previously referencing 2.2 images will be updated to reference 2.1 instead (the latest supported 2.x version):
microsoft/dotnet:runtime-deps
microsoft/dotnet:2-runtime-deps
microsoft/dotnet:runtime
microsoft/dotnet:2-runtime
microsoft/dotnet:aspnetcore-runtime
microsoft/dotnet:2-aspnetcore-runtime
microsoft/dotnet:sdk
microsoft/dotnet:2-sdk
microsoft/dotnet:latest
This is considered to be a breaking change. If you are using any of the above tags, it is recommended that you update to use the new MCR tags (see dotnet/announcements#101). This only affects the old Docker Hub-based tags. Those tags that are referencing MCR (e.g.
mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/core/runtime
) are unaffected.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
