What does DOTNET_PRINT_TELEMETRY_MESSAGE do?

Hi, in almost all services I see DOTNET_PRINT_TELEMETRY_MESSAGE env variable is set to false, but what does it do?

Typical service config:

When you run .NET (SDK) command for the first time, then there's a comment about telemetry printed.
For services this is just noise (and for systemd services this would go to journal), so it's turned off by that env-variable.

Just like DOTNET_SKIP_FIRST_TIME_EXPERIENCE, DOTNET_PRINT_TELEMETRY_MESSAGE is basically deprecated in modern .NET.

The correct way to skip the FTUE message is to set DOTNET_NOLOGO environment variable to 1.

Which version of .NET used DOTNET_PRINT_TELEMETRY_MESSAGE?

It is unsupported at least since 2018 dotnet/sdk#9734 (so that would be <= .NET Core 2.1).
