Asked via chocolatey.org regarding dotnetcore-desktopruntime and dotnet-5.0-desktopruntime:

Is there a way to update this package's dependency for 'vcredist2015' to 'vcredist140'? The vcredist2015 just points to vcredist140 now anyways, so it's not a functional issue or anything. I just like to keep a tidy software list. I can't remove the (now depreciated) vcredist2015 listing cause it is a dependency of this package.

Shouldn't be hard. One wrinkle: different major.minor .NET versions might have different requirements.

Done - packages for all still supported .NET versions (3.1+) got their dependencies switched to the minimum required vcredist140 version (verified experimentally). The change will be visible once Microsoft releases new patch versions and the packages get automatically updated.
