admin ui and selectize

I want to create a custom selectize text field with a list to choose from to select (accomplished). The problem being is that when editing the field it's being displayed as empty.

well one way to get this done

	function review_game_selected()
	{
		$id = (isset($_GET['id']) && is_numeric($_GET['id'])) ? abs(round($_GET['id'])) : 0;
		$sql = e107::getDb();
		$games = $sql->retrieve('games', 'id AS value, Title AS label', '', true);
		$sql->select('reviews', 'review_game_selected', 'review_id = '.$id);
		$game = $sql->fetch();

I really don't like this approach as it turns the listing in admin ui manage to horror (so I have to nolist).

Shouldn't be your first example with

function game($curVal,$mode) {
}

see _blank plugin for example.
