Steps to reproduce

  1. in 17.2.1 receive a DM from a user you've never interacted with before, and so presumably isn't cached.
  2. observe their placeholder avatar is upside down.

  1. conclude that the flip in 17.2.0 (Placeholder avatars have flipped again on iOS 17.2 #2259) was a regression which Apple fixed in 17.2.1 😬

Outcome

What did you expect?

Placeholder avatars to be the right way up
