Some UI elements display unexpectedly at phone sizes. Recommend timeboxing a PO/dev examination using native Chrome tools to investigate what is possible for remediation.

Nik will schedule a meeting to initiate this work when pulled into the sprint.

Putting my 2 cents in before I'm out of office next week:

  • Below a certain breakpoint (probably the md breakpoint), the three elements of the search form could be configured to take up the entire width of the page body and stack on top of each other in a column. That's a pretty Bootstrap-y thing to do and might be straightforward to implement, though it might be tricky with the fine-tuning we've already done on those elements.
  • When a user is logged in, the utility links at the top have some awkward behavior at the md breakpoint. A few ideas come to mind, which could be implemented alone or in some combination:
    • Trigger the hamburger menu at a higher breakpoint
    • Shorten "About Digital Collections" to "About"
    • Display a NetID instead of a full name

Pending the scheduling of a meeting to discuss possible options/solutions.
