Would be great if we could define default sort options like sorting by last modified date.

Ohh, that sounds like a good idea :) I marked this as "help wanted" as I don't have plans to get it added right this moment, but any PRs towards it are welcome :)

This can be helpful, it directly supports sorting by modified date and also allows for custom sorting.
