Triple back tick code blocks aren't automatically rendered in Playground

I noticed that in the playground, single back tick inline code is automatically rendered as you type, but triple back tick code blocks are not (you can trigger them by toggling the markdown button).

Is there a reason why this is not implemented? A design choice, or is it just not implemented by default?

Side question: which plugin handles the automatic rendering of inline code?
