It appears contributes_to is still valid when 2+ subunits are shown to have an activity but there is no evidence they have the activity separately (and the subunits are not a proper complex as defined by ComplexPortal).
How do we use contributes_to in Form, or even GE?

You can make 'contributes to' annotations in the graph editor by adding the gene and activity nodes separately using the Add Individual section, and then linking them with the 'contributes to' relation.

I'll leave this ticket open for further discussion on how to implement this on the form.
