Progress, Plans, and a Long-Term Release Update

Hello everyone,

For those who don’t know, I’m Alex, the creator of K4. I wanted to update you all on what’s currently in the works.

I’m in the process of conducting more thorough benchmarks across a variety of VMs and workloads to better understand K4’s performance. Additionally, I’m putting together both a user-guide PDF and a developer-guide PDF to help everyone get the most out of the engine. I know the current benchmarks and write-ups aren't ideal, but I’m working to improve them.

As a reminder, K4 is still a new storage engine, designed and built from the ground up. It’s only been a couple of weeks since K4 went public, so please bear with me (and anyone else who wants to contribute) as we continue refining everything. Your patience and support are greatly appreciated! Version 2.1.6 has recently been released, and this will be a long-term release. This means no breaking changes—just minor patches as needed, and less frequent updates overall.
