configtxlator support for transactions

Folks,

I've used the qscc GetTransactionByID function to get a representation of a transaction; I'd like to translate that from its structure (which I understand to be in https://github.com/hyperledger/fabric-protos/blob/318e632e5e0c668a1be9e1f882f814f179460766/peer/transaction.proto) to json, but no matter what I put into configtxlator as a type, the conversion fails or the type is unrecognized.

Does configtxlator support protobuf translation of transactions?
