I often want to batch add multiple editions of a work from a list of ISBNs I sourced someplace else.

Or maybe multiple works in a series, or for an author.

Currently, the only place in Inventaire I know of to add multiple books is https://inventaire.io/add/import which is great! I think it works well, and I love that it finds automatically ISBNs in any text.

It’s not clear to me if the works that are listed after inputting text are created in the Inventaire database, even if not added to a personal shelf? It does, except for the works that are “missing information”

Even if it is, there is no way to batch mark them as being the same work, or being from the same author or series, sometimes creating a lot of duplicates that have to be found and again and merged manually afterwards.

It would be great to have (either or both):

  • Button on works (and possibly authors/series) to batch add ISBNs, leading to a similar interface.
  • Buttons at the bottom of that interface to add/merge all these editions into the same work (or the same authors/series).

It would make it super easy when you have a list of ISBN to add them all correctly in the system!
