Hi @jonschlinkert, would love to help out. I've been using this for my personal site for a while, and tbh, got motivated to fix it because it was spewing newlines all over my articles every time a file was touched. Fixed that in #190!

Let me know what needs help. I was going through adding tests for issues that appear to be already fixed but never closed.
