Failure when building error connecting to gcr.io

When I ran ko apply -Rf config/core/ in https://github.com/knative/serving/blob/main/DEVELOPMENT.md#deploy-cert-manager it shows

Error: error processing import paths in "config/core/deployments/domainmapping-webhook.yaml": error resolving image references: Get "https://gcr.io/v2/": dial tcp 108.177.97.82:443: i/o timeout

is there anyway to set proxy for it?

Hm the files do not define the registry. What have you set for KO_DOCKER_REPO?
Also are you able to connect to https://gcr.io directly or do you have a proxy or something in between?

I have set KO_DOCKER_REPO=ko.local. I'm in China so I have to use a proxy to connect to https://gcr.io/

Hm there is no need to access gcr.io here as ko will build all those images locally and push them to KO_DOCKER_REPO. Do you have any configuration in docker/your container runtime about the gcr.io proxy?

Ah I think you cannot get the base images to built it. They are hosted on gcr.io. But this is an issue of ko. Would you mind asking that question there https://github.com/ko-build/ko? Alternatively, if you have access to another registry hosting distroless images, you can change the path here: https://github.com/knative/serving/blob/main/.ko.yaml#L2.

defaultBaseImage: docker.io/ubuntu
baseImageOverrides:
  knative.dev/serving/vendor/github.com/tsenart/vegeta/v12: ubuntu:latest

I changed the defaultBaseImage in '.ko.yaml' to docker.io/ubuntu and another error came when build. Then I set 'GOFLAGS=-buildvcs=false' and finally it completed without error.

You can use an image repository called lank8s in China for the network problem since many people want to keep up with the original default base image.
