Newbie: Implementing Domain Name Registration

I am extremely new to medusajs, so I apologize for the simple question. I have been reading the documentation and trying to decide if I should invest my time with learning this.

I am using a 3rd party provider for Domain name availability and registration. When a user purchases hosting, I will need a custom path to allow for a domain name availability check and if available, allow the registration and auto renewal of the domain name.

Is this something that can be developed into medusa or should I look for another shopping cart?
