    To convert a JS Date object to a LocalDate, use

    LocalDate.from(nativeJs(input.value));

    To convert the LocalDate back to a JS Date object in legacy code, use

    convert(localDate).toDate();

    Better to just convert your implementation full to js-joda, however. API docs are here
