Enable entity selection

I'd like to use this tap to test entity selection in a Dagster deployment, but entity selection does not work. Configuring the tap with any amount of entity selection will not produce the expected results. No matter what patterns you use, the output is always as if select were set to .. Also, running meltano select --list tap-smoke-test produces:

Cannot list the selected attributes: Could not find catalog. Verify that the tap supports discovery mode and advertises the discover capability as well as either catalog or properties

Is this possible?
