ProMicro nRF52840 (nice!nano clone) P0.31 | BATTERY_PIN & P1.00 | BUTTON_PIN

Can someone explain what is the purpose of pins in the title on ProMicro nRF52840
-Is 'battery_pin' for voltage sensing? Should I hook it up to somewhere else (i.e 5v) via something (i.e. resistor) when using battery?
-Is 'button_pin' for user button like the one on heltec v3? Can I use it for rotary encoder 'press'? Is user button different from encoder press, i.e user button cycles through the screen (this is my observation from heltec v3 perspective), will encoder do the same?
