how do i limit image download to some recent picture only in twitter?

is there a way to download recent images (5-6 images only) from https://twitter.com/username/media ?
*i already have some pictures saved from the username, i want to update my gallery by saving the newest pic only.

this is my first time using github & python, i have difficulties at reading the code. Please pardon my question

To only download 6 files, you can use --range 1-6, though I feel you might wanna use something like --abort 5 for this, this means after it sees 5 already downloaded files, it skips that URL and moves onto the next.

also why we should use **--**range instead **-**range? what does -- mean?

I actually just looked it up in the manpages bundled with the program on linux, not sure where to find those in the github repo. You can also find most of them by just performing gallery-dl --help.

As for why there's two dashes, that's just common for terminal based software, you have one dash for "short" options and two for "long" ones.
