Idea: Add an email subscription box

I just listened to the Bitcoin Podcast episode on Grin and really enjoyed it. I’d like to stay up to date with the project over email.

@lehnberg while technically unofficial I can’t imagine anyone being opposed to having a grim news signup right on the main page. It’s invaluable and you’ve proven your dedication. I guess using it to plug your projects over others could be an issue down the line but your products are good and you’ve been fair and transparent so far. It’s much more accessible than anything else we have.

This idea is from over 6 years ago and has not been implemented. There is not an official body from which such a news letter could be sent 'officially' so it seems best not to implement it (it is the kind of thing that would become stale eventually... like the "Grin News" resource mentioned @lehnberg which was great but has not posted since March of 2022.)

The currently maintained mailing list that I am aware of is https://grinpost.substack.com/. It is great and worth following, but I do not know what basis could be for giving it grin.mw based endorsement.

If people visiting grin.mw want news then I suggest forum.grin.mw is a fair place to send people... and there is already a link on the grin.mw site for forum.grin.mw

Additionally, the next most logical place to send people coming to grin.mw to get news is the grin.mw/blog/ which is already listed in the top bar (and has not been posted to since 2021).

I suggest this "issue" be closed as rejected (as validated by the 6 years since this suggestion was made).

I did just notice that at the bottom right side of the page there is a link to "news" that leads to the old newsletter address (https://grinnews.substack.com/). That substack has not been updated since 2021 and makes the project look dead. It would be good to remove that or replace it with a link to the still maintained https://grinpost.substack.com/.
