What are you using for AP mode? hostapd? If so, hostapd will take the adapter into AP mode for you. Here is a thought: Some others and I have been using the following repo to improve and upstream Realtek WiFi 5 rtw88 in-kernel drivers and I am at the beginning point of starting a similar repo for mt76. The mt76 repo I have created here is private for now and is what is in mt76 wireless-next for now. We are discussing things and starting a plan but if you want to join in on the effort, it might help all involved. |

Here is a link to my example hostapd.conf for WiFi 6, 5 GHz for your adapter: https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi/blob/main/home/AP_Mode/hostapd-WiFi6.conf Near the top of the document is the url to the hostapd web site. If you need to compile it, that is the location.
I sent the invite so see you there. |

Hello All,
I hope you are well.
I recently purchased an EDUP EP-AX1672 (chipset: Mediatek mt7921au), and I’m trying to enable it on my embedded Linux system to be used as an AP router.
So far, the system recognizes the device as follows:
Here are the configurations I’ve enabled so far:
However, I do not see any
wlan0
or any other wireless interface.Could anyone share a complete kernel defconfig that includes USB and MT7921au configuration? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I am running a Yocto Project-based embedded Linux system, so I need to create a defconfig to enable these features.
Thank you!
