OPC UA Information Models are conducted using a vast variety of domain-specific languages (DSL), and one of them is UML. It is graphical language therefore it requires a special tool to be used. Enterprise Architect application is one of them. Fortunately, this application can preserve the UML diagrams using XML.

UANodeSet is also a DSL to preserve an OPC UA Information Model. Hence it seems possible to convert UML diagrams into UANodeSet.

Goal

Implementation of a package supporting conversion between the UML diagram XML representation and counterpart UANodeSet OPC UA Information Model representation.

Scope

• prepare a mapping between the UML and UANodeSet
• implement import of the UML representation into internal Address Space
• validation of the UML representation and errors handling
• export UANodeSet model from internal Address Space
• harmonization with the Address Space Prototyping Tool (asp.exe)
• harmonization with OOI Address Space Model Designer (OOI ASMD)
