How to specify multiline secret values?

I have secret SSH_PRIVATE_KEY to get access to some private repos. How can I specify it via .secrets file?

This one does not work obviously:

SSH_PRIVATE_KEY=-----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----
blaabla
-----END OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----

And then I get: FATA[0000] Error loading from /mypath/.secrets: Can't separate key from value

godotenv, I would prefer yaml over the current syntax...

I tried:

SSH_PRIVATE_KEY=-----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----\nsomething\nsomething2\nsomething3\nsomething4\nsomething5=\n-----END OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----

But then I get:

| Error loading key "(stdin)": invalid format

[xxx]   ❌  Failure - Main Create private key to access private repos.

Missing double quotes? Or just a bad example of your secrets file? The wiki has correct examples.
e.g.

SSH_PRIVATE_KEY="-----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----\nsomething\nsomething2\nsomething3\nsomething4\nsomething5=\n-----END OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----"

How are you calling ssh-add -? Just that I have a chance to test myself.

Im calling it using this:

      - name: Create private key to access private repos.
        uses: webfactory/ssh-agent@v0.7.0
        with:
          ssh-private-key: ${{ secrets.SSH_PRIVATE_KEY }}
