Job Description

As a Senior Back-End Engineer, your pivotal role will encompass the design of a dynamic and scalable back-end architecture optimized for performance, and positioned to accommodate future product developments.

Your Journey as a Senior Back-End Engineer

1. Our back-end primarily leverages JavaScript (Node.js). Proficiency in JavaScript is vital; however, applicants with experience in other languages like C, C++, C#, Java, Ruby, or GoLang, who can adapt to JavaScript swiftly, are welcome.
2. Our databases are SQL-based, primarily utilizing Postgres. We use ORMs for effective database interaction and management.
3. Our production infrastructure thrives on containers, K8, and AWS ECS.
4. Our work environment values teamwork.
   • Join hands with a cross-functional team throughout the development cycle, from designing to deploying APIs, SDKs, and other services or tooling.
   • Engage in code reviews to elevate your work and that of your colleagues.
   • Craft reusable and testable code for services and libraries that can be maintained seamlessly.
   • Collaborate with engineers across various departments to create remarkable features.
   • Work in unison with our product team to identify and tackle user pain points.
   • Champion improvements in engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
   • Develop innovative tools for internal teams.

5. API development is a key facet of your role.
   • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems.
   • Create new APIs or enhance existing ones for our users.
6. Troubleshooting and debugging are indispensable skills.
   • Investigate, debug, and upgrade existing software systems, including the development and integration of new components or automation pipelines as needed.
   • Address production issues across services.
7. Engage in the launch of new markets, features, or products regularly.

What You Bring

1. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. Five or more years of coding experience or an internship in a similar role.
3. Proficiency in web frameworks, especially JavaScript and Node.js.
4. Experience with databases like PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
5. Familiarity with quality control testing using tools such as QUnit, Mocha, Jasmine, or RSpec.
