@amfriesz and I are working on this. Idea is to make the homepage of readthedocs more user-facing (it's a bit developer-facing at the moment).

Specific ideas:

• add the earthaccess logo
• add "see it in action" AGU poster, Tech spotlight slide & recording talks

A mini report on the #pangeo hacking day at DevSeed (double posting).

• We finally merged Ayush Nag's work on VirtualiZarr, he gave a great demo at the end of the day. We're working on a notebook to showcase how can we create virtual data cubes using earthaccess.

• Joseph Kennedy, Jessica Scheick, Erik Bolch worked on a new result's class that will keep some state and will be lazy loading metadata from CMR. Great progress and how this class should work and how it would be able to serialize the metadata into a geo-dataframe (say geopandas) and use Kyle's Lonboard to visualize data coverage at the granule level.

• Aaron Friesz and Julie Lowndes worked on a new revamped landing page that includes Allison's animations and feels more welcoming to new users.

We also talked to people from different groups like OPeNDAP about how to integrate and modernize our/their workflows. Another hot topic in conversations was around plugins and integrations (SlideRule, Harmony, etc etc). I'm terrible at remembering all the conversations but I'd say people like the project! kudos to you all!!
