Microsoft has released the headers needed to support HEVC RExt profiles in DXVA, and Intel has implemented it in their Windows drivers. 4:4:4 would help with the text in screen content, and I know NVDEC already supports this. Does NVIDIA have plans to follow up on this?
DXVA VideoProcessor support for these 4:4:4 8/10/12bits GPU texture formats is also an issue on NVIDIA GPU. Some packed formats are not easy to handle in custom shaders, at least Chromium requires DXVA VP to render the converted 10bit RGBx texture on the screen.
