Strange behavior when deleting threads with keyboard shortcuts

Hello,
one of the things I do constantly is selecting a couple of threads and trying to delete them using "#" or the backspace (which I have enabled from the preferences). Sometimes this process works as expected, many other times it happens that after hitting "#", instead of moving the threads to the trash and refreshing the thread list, one of threads open and if I go back to the inbox I see the threads I have selected still selected. In this case, only one thread gets deleted, but very often is the wrong one.

Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?
I only use gmail accounts, so I'm not sure if this would happen with another type of account
