if an external display is connected during power on, and then disconnected before logging in on a clean boot, cosmic-session freezes up. no inputs are registered and cannot login. switching to another TTY works, so the system is not completely frozen.
this appears to not happen if you are logged in already and have locked your screen or logged out from a current session. i have only seen this from a clean boot before logging in for the first time.
