Add external versioning for documents being stored in elasticsearch

We recently had the use case where we needed to provide an external version for documents being stored in documents. Currently I dont see the option to do this in benthos. I wanted to ask, if there are thoughts about it and if it would be useful to have. Thank you.

Is it a _version of a stored document in Elasticsearch itself you're after, or do you just need some incrementing mechanism as your documents come through benthos?
